In 30 years, there’ll be an extra 3 billion people in the world.

So, to make sure everyone can eat healthily and sustainably, now’s the time for us all to start thinking more about how we produce food, how this is turned into the foods we buy, and how we turn these into meals.

The foods we eat are vital to living a healthy life! But currently, around a third of what we produce goes to waste and our enjoyment of certain foods in the cause of severe environmental challenges. Our research will help us produce more food sustainably, using less land, so we don’t harm the planet. But it also makes sense for us to learn to value it more, and not take it for granted.

Only by making sure everyone has ready access to the food they need – food security – can we avoid obesity and malnutrition. And ultimately, famines and even wars that could affect everyone.

Our Purpose
